Job Description

Cashier Cum Accountant

Job Summary

The Cashier cum Accountant is responsible for handling daily cash transactions while also maintaining accurate financial records, accounts, and reports. This role combines front-end cash handling with back-office accounting responsibilities to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cashier Duties

• Handle daily cash receipts and payments accurately
• Manage cash register and petty cash
• Ensure safe custody of cash and timely bank deposits
• Handle supplier payment queries and discrepancies

Accounting Duties

• Maintain books of accounts (cash book, ledger, journals)
• Record daily transactions in accounting software or manual records
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements
• Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reports
• Track accounts payable and receivable
• Support audits by providing required financial documents
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Basic to intermediate accounting knowledge
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Odoo,Tally, QuickBooks)
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce Relevant certifications are an advantage
