Job Description
Purpose
The ICRC Physiotherapist based in Peshawar supports the implementation of the ICRC’s physical rehabilitation objectives and strategies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a focus on improving service quality and ensuring fulfillment of ICRC commitments to its partners. The role contributes to strengthening early rehabilitation and the continuum of care, ensuring a seamless pathway for patients from acute care to community reintegration. This includes conducting field technical support visits to ICRC-supported centers and health facilities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, and identifying service gaps through context analysis. The position also strengthens linkages across healthcare levels, builds the capacity of local providers, and recommends strategic improvements to enhance the overall quality and sustainability of rehabilitation services.
Main Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility is overseeing the overall PRP physiotherapy in Pakistan, with a focus on enhancing the quality and sustainability of rehabilitation services in ICRC-supported centres.
- Working within an interdisciplinary team through conducting technical support visits to assess and address the physical rehabilitation needs. Also ensures the timely and coordinated delivery of rehabilitation services across supported centres.
- A significant aspect of this role is identifying training needs and organizing relevant on-the-job or formal training to strengthen the partners capacity. Additionally, it involves actively participating in data collection, forecasting materials, and managing stock to promote efficient use of resources.
- An essential component is the design, implementation, and monitoring of a referral system for people with disabilities, which supports a continuum of care and facilitates the integration of rehabilitation services across different health system levels.

Main Requirements:
- BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or Doctor of Physiotherapy; Qualification in Public Health is a strong asset.
- Minimum 5 years’ postgraduate experience, with at least 2 years with a wide scope of practice.
- Experience in early rehabilitation management in hospital setting (inpatients, outpatients, and Community-Based Rehabilitation).
- Experience with international NGOs, the International Red Cross, and Red Crescent Movement and or multicultural or low-resource contexts are strong assets.
- Teaching experience and/or skills are an asset.
- Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team an asset.
- Good knowledge of local health authorities and groups of interest for the ICRC.
- Proven program management skills and team-building competencies.
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
- Fluency in English and Urdu is required, and Knowledge of Pashtu is a plus.
- The position require travel within Pakistan (Baluchistan, AJ&K, KPK and merged districts). By applying, you confirm no issue with the travel.
